Description
Kerry King – 2009 BC Rich Speed V (KKV Generation 2)
About the Guitar
As with all my guitar sculptures, I start by transferring my scale drawing onto a wood base. I make sure to accurately mark out all the features of the guitar; pickups, volume & tone knobs, jack plugs, bridges, fret position, headstock features etc.
I then lay out the outline of the body shape using an appropriate material that best fits the guitar characteristics. For the BC Rich Speed V I used heavy weight motorcycle chain to shape the body and headstock.
Furthermore, I have used a common technique of super heating metal and then quenching with motor oil. This results in the rainbow/purple effect on the fret boards and pickups.
The guitar sculpture also comes with its own unique guitar stand. This is specifically tailored to the needs of the guitar with respects to its look, balance and body shape.
These guitars are unique and you will be buying a one-off piece of art. As such, a Certificate of Authenticity identifying your purchase is provided as part of the package.

Equipment Used
Kerry King has predominately been a player of BC Rich guitars. In his early years Kerry played his BC Rich Mockingbird both on stage and in the studio. His BC Rich Warlock is also another guitar he played in his early career with Slayer.
In a collaboration with BC Rich, Kerry designed his signature Speed V. This is based on the Gibson Flying V shape but it has a more pointed look and feel. In 2009 BC Rich released the Kerry King V2 which is the guitar I have sculpted.
